Public Parking

​Parking is free to the public. Damascus has public street parking throughout downtown, plus public long-term lots by the Library and Town Pool for overnight parking up to 30 days. Many businesses offer their own parking as well.

​If you are staying at lodging in town, we recommend that you “park and ride” during your stay here – park at your lodging and walk or bike around town. Damascus is a small town, and besides, anywhere is walking distance if you have enough time (even Maine!).

Oversized and Bike-Rack-Friendly Parking

Find parking to accommodate oversized vehicles and bike racks at the following locations:

• Downtown on Laurel Avenue and North Shady Avenue
• At the Damascus Town Park
• In the long-term lots on Wilson Street and Trestle Street

Please do not block streets, sidewalks, or trails when parking with oversized vehicles, bike racks, and/or trailers.

Long-Term Parking (Up to 30 Days)

Long-term parking is available at two lots in town, first come, first served. Registration required. To use the long-term lots, please complete the online parking registration form below or print the PDF form and turn it in at the Town Hall before leaving Damascus. Parking registration allows us to be aware of trip duration and contact vehicle owners and/or emergency contacts if needed. Long-term parking is limited to 30 days or less.

The Town of Damascus assumes no liability for loss, damage, or injury from the use of public parking.

Violators will be towed and/or ticketed at owners’ expense.

​Overnight camping is not permitted in long-term lots or within town limits. Find a place to stay at Campgrounds & RV Parks.

Long-Term Parking Tips:

• Leave valuables at home or keep them stored out of sight.
• Always lock your vehicle.
• Make sure you have your car keys with you and stashed securely.

Wilson Street Lot
By the Damascus Library
Closed in May until after the Appalachian Trail Days Festival
Parking available for oversized vehicles and trailers

​NOTE: Parking in the Wilson Street lot is not permitted between May 1 and the end of the annual Appalachian Trail Days event (usually around May 20) and vehicles may be towed. During this time, please park at the back of the Trestle Street lot.

Trestle Street Lot
By the Town Pool
Open September to May, outside of the pool season; use this lot around Trail Days (first come, first served).
